Learning Through Play Training

The City of Edmonton’s Child Friendly Edmonton initiative is offering Learning Through Play Training. In this training you will explore the importance of play in the healthy development of children and loose parts play. Lunch will be provided.

*This training is applicable for front line City and community staff who work with children in various environments. Note: 25 spots are reserved for City of Edmonton Staff

Hangin’ with Grandpa
November 19 – 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM Millwoods Seniors Activity Centre (Gym), 2610 Hewes Way, NW

A free half-day of fun and creativity for kids (age 3 to 8) and their dads, granddads, or other significant males. Hang with super heroes, build a box fort or a tower out of straws, or just make a mess! Share pizza, pretzels and a brew (rootbeer of course!) with your special guy! No Moms allowed (pssst! book a spa day, Mom)

This event is located on the 2nd floor of the Millwoods Public Library.


Passport to Play and Story Times

Play Day

The National Child Day Collaborative is hosting a Play Day event to celebrate the Right to Belong. Children and families are invited to participate in fun filled activities to build, create and explore Belonging! Music, creative art experiences, a bouncy castle and so much more!


2nd Annual Mini Round Dance
November 20 – 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Edmonton Intercultural Centre, 9538-107 Avenue

To celebrate National Children’s Day, a mini round dance is being hosted by The Creating Hope Society and The Candora Society. All singers will be acknowledged. A pipe ceremony and feast will follow the round dance. All are welcome to this free event.
