National Bullying Awareness Week Workshops presented by Dare to Care and The City of Calgary, Community Standards

November 14 – John Dutton Theatre Library (616 Macleod Trail SE)

This day Calgary schools will involve 3 Bully Prevention sessions facilitated by Dare to Care experts. Each session is grade specific with Gr 3 and 4 students attending session 1, Grade 5 and 6 attending session 2, and Gr 7-9 attending session 3. Students will engage in a variety of topics including how to identify bullying behaviour, tips on avoiding cyberbullying, and how to deal with bullying in and out of school. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to visit several interactive booths offered by The City of Calgary and our community partners.

These booths include: Calgary Public Library, Calgary Community Standards, Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Recreation: #GetMovingYYC, Calgary AfterSchool and JumpStart.

The City of Calgary’s Winterfest event in celebration of National Child Day

November 20 – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM – Ralph Klein Park (12350 84 Street SE)

Enjoy an action-packed afternoon of free activities and entertainment for all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. at Ralph Klein Park. Get creative in our crafts room, join a guided park tour or test out your birdwatching skills. Learn fun facts about the park’s wildlife, try out some nature games and enjoy an entertaining performance by our special guest. Please remember to leave your furry friends at home. Pets are not permitted on site (excluding assistance dogs).
